Day one - Rugby World Cup Final - here we come

Arriving at Greg's we discovered that the bus was decorated inside - Thanks Harry & helpers and Rose had done a fantastic job on external graphics.....

We loaded up and headed off... the call went out "Everyone got their passports" returned surprising results with Heath (Mike Landry) forgetting his, a detour through Windlesham was a challenging experience for the Route master.

We arrived in Dover with about 30 minutes up our sleeve taking a quick stop at Clackett Lane Services hadn't held us up... We suddenly turned into celebrities arriving at the ferry cue we were greeted by Reporter\photographers from the Telegraph\Daily Express who were keen to take photo's and details of the mission....

Once on board light entertainment was provided by those who had dressed for the occasion and P.C. Ray Wilson went to extreme limits giving a convincing performance of being a true London Bobby. We were approached by 3 young lads sporting English Jerseys who were looking to get to Paris to watch the game, after due consideration and several pints it was decided that a slab of tinnies each would buy them the fare...

We exited the Ferry and headed for Compiegne, 50 miles north of Paris, following the Sat Nav turned into a classical case of reverting to the Twat Nav as we discovered the Route master (4.43 Metres in height) wouldn't go under the 4.2 Metre tunnel, we got directions from a local restaurant to the hotel, returning to the Restaurant for dinner turned into a good move as they setup a table to take all 28 tourists and the large flat screen pumped out the 3rd \ 4th place playoff, we acted disappointed as we watched the Argentinians thrashing the French.....

We took the Restaurant owners children for a quick tour of the bus and gratefully accepted some free drinks finishing the evening off.... some of the younger ones favoured more alcohol and a bit of clubbing which appealed to some of the older ones however the Taxi failed to show and everyone was tucked up by 2:00am.....
